Episode 002: Roles, Resolving Conflict and Relaxation
Click below for Episode 2, where we talk about roles. Knowing what your specific job is and what tasks you OWN within the business is vital. It achieves a balance in the business and the relationship. And it gives each partner direction, autonomy and purpose.
Think about a Venn diagram, where the three circles that you want to overlap are:
Talent: What you do best or what comes easily to you
Take Joy In: What motivates and interests you
Time: What do you have time to do, how your time best is spent
There will always be tedious tasks that no one wants to do. But for the more important jobs, assign them to the person most aligned to accomplish them based on the criteria above.
Then we talk with Charlie Simpson LMFT-S, LPC-S with Arkansas Relationship Counseling Center on conflict resolution. Charlie specializes in relationship dynamics in a group, marriage and/or family setting. He has a passionate, nonjudgmental, and systemic approach. And we really enjoyed chatting with him on ways to make conflict productive.
